Saint Luke’s Handchime Ringers
We are a group of people made up of church and non-church members. We meet regularly for practice and we sometimes follow the practice with a pub lunch. We play in church on special occasions at residential homes (usually at Christmas and Easter) and anywhere else when required.  The photo shows us playing at Christmas in St. Luke’s church.

Hand-chimes are musical instruments which are rung by hand, similar to handbells. They are tuned square tubes with an external clapper mechanism. Many of the handbell techniques can also be applied to hand-chimes,

Hand-chimes were originally intended to be used as a training tool for prospective handbell ringers. Now they are used as an alternative to handbells. They are cheaper, easier, lighter and more resilient than handbells, making them more suitable for senior citizens’ groups.
